The Food Coop

Today, we went to the Food Coop which is located in the Stamp Student Union for our lunch with Nina and classmates. I think the food there is really healthy, but I don’t like it because most of the food there is American food, and actually I don’t like American food so much. American food makes me fat weight. I don’t know why. So, if you like American food or healthy food, I think you can go to the Food Coop for your lunch or dinner. It will be a good place for you.

I agree with your opinion about American food. Eating them always makes me worry about getting fat! Also, everything is too big! I just couldn't finish eating them when I was in the US.

I didn't have an oppotunity to go to the Food Coop, but it seems like a good place to have some healthy foods!

American portions tend to be very large, and American foods are often high in fat, salt, and sugar. All of these things contribute to our problem with obesity: many Americans are overweight. However, we can make good choices and avoid gaining weight. The Coop has food which is not fattening. You may not find it tasty, which is another thing!

I like Chinese food (but not when it is too spicy!). I like tofu and I enjoy many kinds of vegetables. I can always find something good at a Chinese restaurant! One of my favorite things is scallion pancakes. I first ate them in Beijing. They are delicious! (But too many of them would make one fat!)

hi cindy,

Alice from William's class here. Your blog is very interesting. I don't like western food either. In our school, we have potluck at least once a term, so I can have opportunity to try different kind of foods around the world. Most of the foods are delicious and I really enjoy it. Do you do potluck at MEI?
